years. and then there were three. the city of eugene is closer to hiring a new police chief. kezi 9 news reporter macy hyland joins us live in the studio with more on how you can help with the hire. macy, there's a public meeting today. bryan, sean... the forum is an opportunity for everyone present or at home, because you can view through a webcast, to see the candidates and then weigh in by saturday. here are the three finalists. mike lester has 28 years of experience in municipal policing and that includes seven years in executive command positions. he currently serves as the assistant police chief for the city of vancouver washington. he's held that position since 2012. bruce marquis has 40 years of law enforcement experience with more than 15 years as police chief for the cities of norfolk virginia and hartford connecticut. he's previously served as a special agent for the f-b-i and has several higher learning degrees. he is currently the training programs consulations manager for the u-s department of state, diplomatic security, anti- terrorism assistance program. chris skinner has 27 years of police experience and is the chief of police for the richland washington police department. he's held that position since 2011. he previously served as the deputy chief of police for hillsboro oregon for more than three years. within that department he also had other ranking positions. skinner is also a graduate of the f-b-i national academy. that community forum is tonight from 530 to 630. it's in harris hall which is on east eighth avenue. if you can't make it -- you can watch it through a webcast. community feedback will be collected at the forum or you can provide it through email through march 17-th! we'll make sure all of that information is on our website for you -- kezi dot com. live in the studio macy hyland kezi dot com.
