EUGENE, Ore. -- Graeme Abel and Oregon soccer opened up Pac-12 play against No. 3 Stanford.

The defending NCAA Champions had never lost to the Ducks, until Friday night.

In the 23rd minute, Eden Hardy's shot found the back of the net to put Oregon up 1-0.

In the 64th minute, Eugene native Jordan Warmdahl found the foot of Ally Cook. Cook's shot barely escaped by Stanford's keeper to give the Ducks a 2-nil lead.

Stanford's Civana Kuhlmann scored with just one second remaining on the game clock.

Oregon goalie Leah Freeman recorded four saves in the win.

The Ducks not only upset the No. 3 team in America, but they beat the Cardinal for the first time in program history. This loss marks the first time Stanford has lost in Pac-12 play since 2016.

Oregon (2-0-1) returns to the pitch on Sunday when Cal pays a visit to Eugene.
