CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Oregon State baseball opens up the season against New Mexico on February 14 in Surprise, Ariz.

The Beavers will go into the season with former player and first-year head coach Mitch Canham.

Canham was the a four-year student-athlete for the Beavers helping OSU to back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007.

The players are hoping Canham can bring that championship culture to the program.

"From the outside it seems like there has been a lot of changes and there has been but the culture has remained the same in the locker room and on the field," senior infielder Andy Armstrong. "That's one of the great things about having a coaching staff that is a majority of them have played here."
