Corvallis, OR. — After week 10 of the college football season, Oregon State still sits comfortably in second place in the Pac-12 North. The Beavers are also fresh off back-to-back victories for the first time since 2016. But here is where the next challenge lies: the Washington Huskies at home on a short week.

The good news for Oregon State’s offense is that it finally has Jermar Jefferson back in the lineup to platoon with Artavis Pierce in the backfield and complement Jake Luton and the passing game.

"Coach Smith says it's almost like a basketball player. One gets hot and we just keep feeding him,” said offensive lineman Blake Brandel. “It's awesome to have that one-two punch. Whoever is back there is going to do good regardless."

"They both have their own little things that they are good at,” said quarterback Jake Luton. “Our whole run play book is open and it really opens up the passing game as well."

Jefferson feels healthy and well rested after missing time with an ankle injury.

"Coach Pitre does a good job at rotating me and him back and forth. I remember in practice today he said it's hard to have all three of us healthy. But everything happens for a reason,” said running back Jermar Jefferson.

Pierce and Jefferson combined for 221 yards and four touchdowns against the Arizona Wildcats. The players and coaches feel if that performance can be repeated Friday night against Washington, the Beavers will have a chance to record their fifth win of the season and take one step closer to becoming bowl eligible for the first time since 2013.

Kickoff against the Huskies is Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Reser Stadium.
