Eugene, OR. -- College basketball’s most prestigious award goes to the most deserving player. A few days after being named an Associated Press first-team All-American for the third consecutive year, Oregon’s triple-double queen Sabrina Ionescu was unanimously selected as the AP women’s national player of the year.

Ionescu is the first Duck ever to claim the honor. She joins University of Connecticut's Brenna Stewart (2016) as the only unanimous winners in history.

The laundry list of accolades and broken records can read on forever it seems like. Ionescu capped off one of the greatest college careers of all-time with arguably her best season as a senior. She led the Ducks to a Pac-12 Tournament championship and their third consecutive Pac-12 regular season crown.

The three-time Pac-12 player of the year also matched her own NCAA single-season record with eight triple-doubles to extend her all-time record for both men and women to 26. To make her four year run even more historic, Ionescu became the first player in NCAA history to reach 2,000 career points (2,562), 1,000 assists (1,091) and 1,000 rebounds (1,040).

Ionescu is a top-four finalist for the Naismith Trophy and has also appeared on the Wooden Award and Wade Trophy watch list.
