BEND, Ore. (AP) -- An Oregon woman who accused a male driver of attacking her and her passenger is facing charges of assault for punching another driver on Mother's Day.

The Bulletin reports that Megan Stackhouse was arraigned Tuesday in Deschutes County Circuit Court and assigned a public defender.

Stackhouse and her partner, Lucinda Mann, made the news earlier this month after they told police they were victims of a violent road rage attack on June 1.

But prosecutors dismissed charges against the man this week, saying the women lacked credibility and their injuries did not match up with their story.

Witnesses also reported that Stackhouse and Mann inflicted their injuries on themselves before police arrived.

District Attorney John Hummel says Stackhouse punched another woman in an unrelated road rage case in May.
