Woman rescued from house fire in Cottage Grove

The woman was rushed to the hospital after firefighters carried her out of a home on fire overnight Wednesday. She was one of four people in the home when the fire started.

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Adams Avenue 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, where they saw flames coming out of the second floor of the home. 

Three people were outside when firefighters arrived, according to South Lane Fire and Rescue. As they started spraying down the home, a team of rescuers went inside in search of the missing woman. 

Those firefighters found the woman on the second floor, where the fire was coming from, and they carried her out of the home. Paramedics rushed her to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with serious injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
