LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- A woman was arrested Monday on manslaughter and driving while intoxicated charges that relate to a fatal 2019 crash.
Alysha Rae Greene, 31, was arrested by the Lane County Sheriff's Office and booked into the Lane County Jail.
On Sept. 9, 2019, Lane County deputies responded to a single vehicle crash into a tree on Lanes Turn Road in Coburg. Passenger Saul Rodriguez died at the scene of the crash.
KEZI 9 News talked to his widow, Cory Rodriguez-Uzelac.
Rodriguez-Ulezac said her husband worked with Greene at a hemp company. She said Greene was driving Rodriguez to a job site when, according to deputies, she lost control and crashed into a tree.
"(Greene) got to spend the last 14 months with her kids," said Cory. "While I've had to spend it with mine trying to explain what really happened."
Rodriguez-Uzelac said the arrest opens up old wounds.
"It's hard explaining to your 10-year-old and 6-year-old that their dad's not coming back -- never," she said.
"He was such a light to everyone that knew him and I know everyone says that about their loved ones, but he really was," said Rodriguez-Uzelac.
Greene pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday. She will be back in court Nov. 25 for a pre-trial conference.
