SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A woman has been arrested for mail theft in Springfield.
Police arrested Jazmyn Jasper on Friday after allegedly finding stolen mail and packages in her possession during a traffic stop at the Heritage Restaurant on Mohawk Boulevard. Police were called at about 6:30 a.m. after a driver saw a white van swerving near I-105 and 42nd Street, and reported the license plate number to police.
Jasper, 19, of Springfield, was previously arrested on similar charges Dec. 25, 2020, and Jan. 19, 2021.
Springfield Police said there appear to be 50 or more victims in Friday’s mail theft case. Police are still investigating and will be contacting victims directly.
Anyone who has mailed a check payment recently should contact the payee to confirm they have received payment. Police also recommend using a secure mailbox for outgoing mail.
