Woman arrested after discharging firearm during dispute

EUGENE, Ore. -- A Eugene woman has been charged after police say she fired her handgun in a dispute with homeless people in her neighborhood.

Police were called to Moon Mountain Drive and Glenwood Boulevard Tuesday around 1:03 a.m. They detained Nicole Burke, 50, and say she was intoxicated when she fired the gun. No injuries were reported.

Burke was charged with DUII, Unlawful Use Weapon, and Reckless Endangering. Additional charges may be pending.
