SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Officers arrested a wanted man with a history of evading arrest on Wednesday, the Eugene Police Department said.

SWAT, police dog Cwyk, and others participated in the operation at Home Towne Suites on Harlow Road. Police said investigators used surveillance of a probable location to identify him.

Brandon McFarland, 26, of Eugene, allegedly evaded police four times between Nov. 1 and Dec. 3. Three of those involved a silver Porsche Cayenne and one a black Chrysler Crossfire.

Police said McFarland was taken to the Lane County Jail and charged with four counts of eluding by vehicle, three counts of reckless driving, third-degree escape, felony hit and run and a felony warrant.

The arrest was the fourth in two days in which police dog Cwyk assisted.
