Victim of fatal hit-and-run identified; driver contacts police

Eugene police identified the victim of a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian Friday and said the driver of the car contacted officials Sunday morning.

EUGENE, Ore.-- Eugene police identified the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash Friday and said the driver of the car has contacted officials.

According to the Eugene Police Department, 29-year-old Andrew Cordin, of Eugene, was killed on the 400 block of Bertelsen Road sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Officials said that a driver suspected of being in the crash contacted police around 7 a.m. Sunday and is cooperating with investigators. Police have the 1996 Ford F-150 believed to have been in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
