Police found Harris lying on the yard of a home on Forsythia Street Thursday morning suffering from a gunshot wound.
They said Adam Kohl Summerlyn shot Harris in the stomach. Police said the shooting happened at Summerlyn's home.
Summerlyn took off, police said, and Harris was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police closed off the area and warned residents about the gunman who is on the loose. Police consider Summerlyn to be armed and dangerous. He was last seen heading west in the 4200 block of Daisy Street.
Officials used a drone to search a wooded area near the home but didn't find him.
The search for Summerlyn continued throughout the night and officers are still looking for the fugitive. They urge residents not to approach him. They said instead, call police if they have any information on his whereabouts.
