ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Umpqua Community College will be raising tuition and fees starting this summer.
This comes after months of meetings and gathering student and community input.

UCC will be charging an additional $4 per credit hour, plus a $1 global technology fee and a $3 per credit instructional fee.
Officials said this was a difficult decision but had to be done.
“The college is doing everything that we can to, first, to help to grow enrollment, to make the programs solid, to keep up excellence in education, so that we’re offering high-quality programs to the community,” said Board of Education Chair Steve Loosley.
These changes make in-state tuition $97 per credit hour, not including fees.
The increases will start in the upcoming summer term.
