UO women's hoops opens tournament with win over South Dakota

The Ducks advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament following the 67-47 win over South Dakota.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- No. 6 Oregon women's basketball defeated No. 11 South Dakota, 67-47, in the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament on Monday.

The Ducks shot 60 percent from the field in the winning effort.

The defense was stout as the Ducks allowed just nine points in the first half. 

Erin Boley led way for Oregon with 22 points. 

Nyara Sabally added 17 points for Oregon. 

The Ducks will play No. 3 seed Georgia in the second round on Wednesday.
