EUGENE, Ore. -- A crash on Highway 126 closed a portion of the road for about two hours Wednesday.
The collision happened on W. 11th Avenue near Fisher Road, and officials said the call came in around 9 a.m.
Oregon State Police said a vehicle driving eastbound crossed into the westbound lane where it struck a commercial vehicle. This caused the second vehicle to enter the eastbound lane, where another car swerved to avoid them and crashed into an ODOT sign.
The driver of the first car was taken to Sacred Heart at RiverBend with serious injuries, and another passenger was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
Eugene Springfield Fire, the Oregon Department of Transportation, and Oregon State Police all responded to the incident.
The road reopened just after noon. There's no word yet on what might have caused the crash.
