Two more coronavirus cases identified in Lane County

This brings the county's total to seven.

EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County Public Health announced two new cases of coronavirus Wednesday night.

The total for the county is now at seven.

One of the new cases is a woman in her 60s who lives at a private residence in the Eugene-Springfield area. She is currently at home following advice from health officials. They believe she contracted the virus due to domestic travel.

The other case is a man in his 30s. Officials said he also lives in the Eugene-Springfield area and is currently at home following recommendations.

Those who had contact with either person will be contacted by Lane County Public Health. The investigation is ongoing. If a public exposure point is identified, that information will be shared with the public, they said.

Previously on Wednesday, the Oregon Health Authority announced 57 new cases and two more deaths, bringing the state total to 266 cases and 10 deaths.

One of the deaths took place in Lane County. A 60-year-old woman died at RiverBend Hospital.
