JUNCTION CITY, Ore. – Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash that was discovered Friday morning on River Road southeast of Junction City.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway.
The driver, Chad Iseli, 44, and his passenger, Myla Zelazny, 24, both of Springfield, were thrown from the motorcycle and killed.
Alcohol use is being investigated as a factor in the crash, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said. No other vehicles appear to have been involved.
The crash was discovered at about 6 a.m. when a resident went outside to check his mail. The motorcycle and the bodies of the driver and passenger were found in a field on the west side of the highway.
It happened in rural Junction City south of Hayes Lane and north of Shadow Hills Country Club.
Junction City Fire also responded to the crash.
