Two dead after crash on Highway 138W

A motorcycle attempted to pass a vehicle turning left, investigators said.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – Two people are dead after in a crash on Highway 138 West on Tuesday.

Oregon State Police said troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash near milepost 23A at about 1:15 p.m.

Investigators said Sara Myers, 45, of Sutherlin was driving west and was slowing down to turn left, south onto Dovetail Lane, when a motorcycle tried to pass.

Keith Berry, 34, of Sutherlin was operating the Honda motorcycle, and Berry and passenger Caylla Ritchie, 27, of Roseburg were pronounced dead.

Myers was taken to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Sutherlin Police Department, Sutherlin Fire Department, Umpqua Valley Ambulance and ODOT assisted.
