Creswell, Ore. -- Creswell high school football is a team that has been rebuilding for the past two seasons. A move to 2A has helped move things along, but 2019 will be a real test to see how much Scott Worsham's program has grown.

"I think we can be good if everyone can stay healthy and eligible to play," says Creswell senior lineman Logan Johnson. "We got good bones we just have to work for it and get there."

The bones are indeed there for Creswell, who went from 0 wins to 2 from 2017 to 2018 and are now aiming for more in 2019.

"I'm hoping we have a little momentum from last year," head coach Scott Worsham says. "Our guys competed all year. I'm hoping we can bring that into this year, and the guys can work a little harder to not only win a few more games but to again be competitive."

Added developments in the weight room will help move that kind of thing along.

"Corbin Alison has worked quite a bit," Johnson mentions as players that have changed significantly in the offseason. "His max squad went 200 pounbds heavier this year."

"Tyler Nickel, he's gotten a lot bigger," senior Dalton Dewey says. "And same as Logan said, Corbin Alison has gotten a lot bigger."

Which means more a team than relying on singular stars.

"We had one main guy, Taylor," Dewey says of last season's team. "But it feels like everyone this year is working a lot harder and it doesn't really feel like we don't have a go to guy, it's basically anyone."

And for this senior class, it means something even more.

"Definitely want to go out on a better note than years past and there's definitely a bunch of younger kids working hard, the freshmen are probably working the hardest though," finishes Dewey.

So the seniors legacy won't just be defined in wins and losses but in showing the next classes how it's done.
