Driver allegedly points gun at vehicle in I-5 road rage incident

A convicted felon was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at another vehicle on I-5 during a road rage incident, OSP says.

EUGENE, Ore. – A convicted felon was arrested on Thursday after a road rage incident led to a high-risk traffic stop, Oregon State Police said.

It started at about 4 p.m. on Interstate 5 south of Eugene. OSP learned two vehicles were involved in a road range incident near milepost 189. A driver reportedly pointed a gun at the other vehicle.

Troopers stopped the suspected vehicle on I-5 northbound near milepost 205, north of Eugene. Driver Roger Dale Brown Jr., 39, of Gresham was taken into custody.

OSP said Brown is a convicted felon and during the search of the vehicle, troopers found several loaded weapons, including two .45 caliber semi-automatic pistols, a .308 caliber SCAR assault rifle and a pistol style AK-47 with a 75-round drum. Roughly $60,000 was also seized from the vehicle, along with a heavy ballistic vest.

Brown faces charges of menacing, unlawful use of a firearm, five counts of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of body armor, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
