SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Three felons were arrested after a police chase through Springfield and down Camp Creek Road on Wednesday, police say.

It started just after 2 a.m. when a Springfield officer tried to stop a gray Nissan Altima that reportedly made multiple traffic violations. Police said the vehicle sped off down Olympic Street, going from the intersection at 28th Street to 42nd Street

The driver, who police identified as 23-year-old Andrew Bushnell, allegedly made his way to Camp Creek Road, where officers decided to end the chase due to dangerous conditions. They last spotted the vehicle at Gemstone Road.

Officers responding to the area tracked the vehicle down again near East of Eden Drive and tried to perform a high-risk traffic stop, but the vehicle got away and tried to ram the police officers and their vehicles, authorities said.

The pursuit picked back up, ending when Bushnell crashed the car, police said. He allegedly got out and ran, leaving two passengers in the vehicle. A police dog chased him down and officers took him into custody, according to authorities.

A second high-risk traffic stop was deployed, allowing officers to take the passengers into custody as well. Police identified them as Ryan Nguyen, 30, and Brandon Duncan, 25, both wanted men with warrants for their arrests.

During a search, officers found one loaded handgun in the vehicle and methamphetamine and heroin paraphernalia, police said. Officers also reportedly recovered a stolen gun connected to the driver.

Police said Bushnell had warrants for his arrest through Eugene Municipal Court for failure to appear involving driving under the influence of intoxicants and through state police for a probation violation related to a felon in possession of a firearm charge.

Bushnell was taken to jail on new charges of eluding by vehicle and by foot, resisting arrest, reckless driving and reckless endangering, and counts of felon in possession of a firearm.

Meanwhile, Nguyen had warrants out of Springfield Municipal Court for failure to appear involving driving under the influence of intoxicants and Lane County Circuit Court for failure to comply involving identification theft and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Duncan had warrants out of Lane County Circuit Court for failure to appear related to two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All three were taken to the Lane County Jail.
