Three arrested in Eugene bait bike operation

EUGENE, Ore. -- Three men were arrested in the latest bait bike operation in Eugene.

The Property Crimes Unit ran the operation Thursday night in the downtown area.

Police said Kameron Gray, 26, of Eugene took one of the bikes and tried to get to his nearby residence but was arrested and charged with first-degree theft.

Detectives arrested Lloyd Worley, 57, who they said grabbed one of the bait bikes and left. They caught up with him about six blocks away. Worley was arrested on a first-degree theft charge and a warrant.

As Worley was arrested, police said another bike was taken. The team caught up to James Pacheco, 30. He was arrested on a first-degree theft charge and a warrant.

Police recommend locking your bike, registering it and reporting any thefts. Registration increases your chances of recovering your bike if it is stolen. To learn more, click here
