EUGENE, Ore. – Three Lane County nonprofit organizations have been awarded special COVID-19 emergency relief grants from the Oregon Country Fair.

The grants will go to Downtown Languages, Sponsors and the Kareng Fund. All three nonprofits provide financial assistance to people in the community.

Downtown Languages provide basic needs assistance to Latino families, including food and online educational resources. Sponsors supports formerly incarcerated people who are back in the community. The Kareng Fund is for artisans who need assistance with basic needs such as food, shelter and COVID-19 related safety precautions.

The pandemic has caused the fair to be canceled, but the board of directors decided to donate $20,000 to help meet the community's needs during this time.
