EUGENE, Ore. -- Thousands marched and rallied throughout the country Saturday for the 3rd annual Women's March including in Eugene.

Thousands marched through downtown near the Wayne L. Morse Courthouse raising awareness for women of all backgrounds and fighting for social change.

People danced in the streets, chanted and held signs.

"I came to support the woman as we did a year ago," said Sally Reidey, a participant. "I believe in women's rights and this is a good way to express it."

The march was organized by the South Willamette Chapter of the National Organization for Women. Many local organizations also joined in including 500 Women Scientists, who have been participating in the march since the first rally three years ago.
