LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- The Lane Education Service District offers career path services in nearly 20 schools.

KEZI met with staff to see how they’re helping students become skilled to work. Staff said they do this with the help of state and specific funding programs like the Perkins CTE program.

They said it's been amazing to see people they wouldn't imagine feeling so comfortable finding their way.

"It's really fun because they start out, they're a little unsure of themselves, and then as they gain some of these skills, particularly young women in some of the non-traditional careers. As they get ahold of equipment and feel comfortable," said Kristin Gunson, CTE regional coordinator.

She said the important thing to note about these programs is how much they've evolved. They are changing programs to suit the current needs industries have.
