SUTHERLIN, Ore. --  The Sutherlin Police Department arrested Debra Smith, 44, after authorities said she led them on a high-speed chase in Sutherlin Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:50 p.m. authorities responded to reports of a red Ford Focus driving below the speed limit near Old Highway 99 North and Deady Crossing.

Officals say they found Smith driving north on the highway at slow speeds, causing traffic to back up. Officals say they tried to stop her but she allegedly sped away, hitting a patrol car in the process.

Officials followed her on to South State Street where she turned around, hit two more patrol cars and stopped.

Smith was reportedly unruly and was tased before being taken into custody. She was taken to a local hospital on a police hold. Pending charges against her include felony elude, reckless driving and attempted assault in the second degree.

Sutherlin Police say one of the damaged patrol cars was not drivable and had to be towed.
