SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A driver was taken to the hospital after a chase with Springfield police Friday afternoon.
Police spotted a possible drunk driver on Main Street at about 1 p.m. When they tried to talk to the woman who was driving, she reportedly took off at more than 80 mph.
Eventually, police used a spike strip on Olympic Street to stop the car. It deflated a tire and caused the driver to lose control and hit a tree, authorities said.
The woman was ejected and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuires.
