Accused drunk driver causes power outage

A small number of residents remained without power into Tuesday morning.

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. – A driver has been arrested after hitting a power pole and knocking out power for many residents in Junction City Monday night, police said.

Ashley Collier, 22, of Junction City was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.

Police said the incident happened just before 11 p.m. in the 300 block of East 1st Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene. Police said Collier was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured.

A small number of residents remained without power into Tuesday morning, but all traffic signals were working, according to authorities.
