EUGENE, Ore. ---The man who allegedly shot at police officers at a residence in Eugene Friday night has been identified.
Police told KEZI 9 News that Jordan Wilson, 55, was taken into custody after a standoff with police.
According to Eugene Police, officers were called to respond to a report of a man menacing another man with a gun at a home in the 200 block of E. 42nd Avenue.
Jordan Wilson allegedly fled to his residence in the 2200 block of Chambers Street before police got there.
From there, several officers went to make contact with him. They say Wilson opened his door and started to shoot at officers. Officers shot back before they say Wilson returned inside his home. There were no injuries.
SWAT then contained him in the residence, leading the Crisis Negotiation Team to successfully work with Wilson and take him into custody.
A neighbor in the area said she originally heard the shots and thought they were fireworks.
"I'm like 'woah I think I just heard shots fired', and then a few minutes later I heard them again," said Andrea Lewis, a resident near the incident. "We've had people leaving the neighborhood because we just don't feel safe here anymore, it's gotten really bad."
Wilson is lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, attempted assault in the first degree, and two counts of menacing.
Neighbors were told to shelter in place by police, but that has since been lifted and the roads are no longer blocked off.
