Suspect drives away after stabbing in Springfield

It’s not known if the suspect and victim knew each other or why the victim was in the suspect's vehicle.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Deputies are investigating after a stabbing in Springfield Thursday night.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5200 block of Jasper Road at about 6:30 p.m. A 30-year old white man was reportedly stabbed by a male suspect while in the passenger seat of the suspect’s vehicle.

They said the suspect left the victim in the area and drove away.

Deputies said the victim was taken to a local hospital. It’s not known if the suspect and victim knew each other or why the victim was in the vehicle.
