Suspect arrested in theft at Junction City store

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- A man accused of stealing power tools from Tractor Supply in Junction City has been caught, Junction City police said.

At about 7:40 a.m. on Friday, a resident reported seeing the suspect's vehicle parked in the area of W. 7th Avenue in Eugene.

Junction City Police reached out to Eugene Police, and the suspect was identified as Carlos Argueta, 36. Investigators said Argueta was wearing the same clothing from the robbery.

Authorities said they recovered one of two stolen DeWalt cordless power tools, as well as several other stolen items for other retail outlets.

Police said the suspect had also been accused of stealing a $6,000 necklace from Fred Meyer in Eugene.

Argueta was taken to Lane County Adult Correctional Facility on one count of first-degree robbery, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and two counts of menacing. Eugene police lodged him at Lane County Jail on additional charges.
