SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Springfield Police have identified the suspect arrested in a high-speed chase that ended in Vida.
Police received reports of a reckless driver on Hwy 126 around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. They say Carl Allen Dye, 48, led them along with Lane County deputies on a pursuit west on Hwy 126 before disappearing near Cedar Flat Road.
He was then spotted in Vida, where authorities were able to stop the vehicle. Dye then got out and ran to a nearby creek where a police dog eventually found him.
He was booked into the Lane County jail just after midnight and faces three charges, including attempting to elude police, reckless driving and resisting arrest.
