CRESWELL, Ore. – Nearly a month after a shooting in Creswell, a suspect has been arrested, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies had been searching for Wesley Roy Jr., 40, in connection with the shooting, which happened the morning of Sept. 15 in the 81000 block of Davisson Road.

A 59-year-old man was injured in the shooting, and deputies said he was bleeding profusely by the time they arrived. The man was taken by an ambulance to receive medical attention.

Authorities said Roy was also a suspect in multiple unrelated cases involving felonies.

At about 1 p.m. on Monday, detectives learned Roy was at an RV park in the 82100 block of Davisson Road. To avoid a possible armed confrontation, deputies waited for Roy to leave the park and a spike strip was used. Roy reportedly drove off at 100 mph before stopping at a curve.

Deputies said Roy faces charges related to multiple cases, including first-degree assault in connection with the shooting and second-degree assault from a domestic violence case in which a woman suffered serious permanent injuries.
