LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- As the school year is coming to a close, the free summer lunch program is beginning.
Starting on June 25 and continuing throughout the summer, Food for Lane County will be holding several free lunches for children in Lane County.
"When summer comes around, it becomes a financial burden to feed kids. So the summer food program really helps kids and families eat without the additional financial burden,” said Stephanie Roybal, the Summer Food Program assistant.
You can find the full list of times and locations here.
Children who want to attend need to be 18 years old or younger. They don’t need to show any documentation to eat.
Roybal said serving times are fairly strict to ensure that everyone has equal access.
Staff said they are still looking to employ several site supervisors to help on the day of a free lunch.
