CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Residence halls at Oregon State University are filled with the sound of students once again. That's because OSU welcomed more than 3,000 students back to campus on Sunday.

Students said it was not the ideal weather for their big return to campus, but they said they are excited for new beginnings.

Brian Stroup, Director of Operations and Facilities, said now that students are back, campus feels alive again.

“It's definitely great having students back on campus. It brings a whole new energy. That's the purpose for our work and why we're here. We always love when the students come back so it's a big day with a lot excitement,” Stroup said. “I know it's tough when it's raining today, but it is a taste of what things are like in the valley."

Stroup said Move-In Day is the start of a whole week's worth of welcome activities. He said these events will get students connected to their residence halls, new roommates and the rest of campus.
