EUGENE, Ore. -- The KEZI 9 News StormTracker 9 weather team is tracking fog again this Tuesday morning, with visibility down to a quarter of a mile or less in spots.

This led to a dense fog advisory in the Willamette Valley through noon. There is an upper-level shortwave moving through the region, but this will mainly just bring some high clouds during the afternoon. This will limit daytime heating with highs in the Valleys in the low-mid 50s, instead of the upper 50s.

Fast Forecast:

Tuesday: AM fog/PM Sun. Highs in mid 50s to low 60s
Wednesday: AM fog/PM Sun. Highs in mid 50s to low 60s
Thursday: Partly Sunny. Highs in mid 50s to low 60s
Friday: Partly Sunny. Highs in mid 50s to low 60s
Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in upper 50s to low 60s
Sunday: Partly Sunny. Highs in mid 50s to low 60s
Veteran’s Day: Partly Sunny. Highs in mid 50s to low 60s

More fog is expected tonight into Wednesday morning. Fog will again lift with sunshine again during the afternoon. In addition, an air stagnation advisory continues until 4 p.m. on Wednesday. This is due to poor air quality and poor atmospheric mixing. When air quality becomes unhealthy, you should limit your time outdoors.

Atmospheric mixing is expected to increase on Wednesday night into Thursday as the upper level ridge moves closer to the coastline. The increased mixing will help improve air quality and reduce fog chances.

The high-pressure ridge, that has been keeping us dry, will flatten out some as it moves closer to the coast, allowing for more clouds to move in with a weak front moving across the northern Pacific Northwest. Unfortunately, no rain chances are expected. If this holds true, we will break the record for latest November rain. Previous record is a tie between Nov. 9, 1952 -- (0.03”) -- and Nov. 9, 2007 --(0.04”).
