SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A Springfield teen was arrested after sharing photo on Snapchat, allegedly threatening Briggs Middle School.

The message showed what appeared to be two handguns and a caption saying "Don't come to school Monday." After an investigation, Springfield Police said the guns were realistic looking BB guns.

Police said they received several calls about this alleged threat on Saturday. They said it was sent to several Briggs Middle School students.

Police said it was sent by a 14-year-old student who attends the school. They said he claimed no intent to shoot up the school and had not intended to post the message in a public format.

Investigators said he sent another snapchat message apologizing.

The student was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct in the first degree and transported to the John Serbu Juvenile Detention Facility in Eugene.
