Springfield missing boy found

The boy had gone missing at 10th and C at about 2 p.m. Monday.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – UPDATE: Springfield Police announced just after 9 p.m. on Monday that the young boy had been located and is safe.


Springfield police are seeking the public’s help finding a missing boy.

Marshall Shafer, 9, was last seen at about 2 p.m. Monday at 10th and C streets. Police responded to the area at about 4:30 p.m.

Police said he is white, about 4 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 85 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Marshall was last seen wearing brown hiking boots, two-tone gray sweatpants, a black costume-style cape with a hood, and a bright blue drawstring backpack.
