At sentencing the judge ruled that Gabriel Leiken, 23, of Springfield was eligible for alternative sentencing programs. Leiken is serving his sentence in Lane County's electronic surveillance program, which means he is wearing an electronic ankle monitor at home. He is technically still in custody.

After serving his sentence, Leiken will be on supervised probation for three years. He will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and will pay $25,000 in fines, with $20,000 going to the victim of his crime.

A sentencing memorandum filed by Leiken's attorney says Leiken met the victim when he was a camp counselor in 2017. He has been ordered to have no contact with the girl. He also cannot have any contact with other juveniles without his probation officer’s permission.
