EUGENE, Ore. – Six residents in Eugene locked themselves away after waking up to a burglar yelling and destroying their home.
It happened on Monday before 5 a.m. in the 2400 block of Agate Street.
Police said the residents secured themselves in a separate part of the house and could hear things being broken.
Officers arriving to the scene reportedly spotted the suspect – Benjamin Webber, 31, of Eugene – inside the family room, still yelling and throwing things. Webber broke a window of a bedroom and a piece of furniture came flying out, followed by other items, police said.
Once Webber opened the bedroom door, he was taken into custody, police said. Officers found he had a small cut from the broken glass. Medics took a look at his injuries before he was taken to the Lane County Jail on a charge of first-degree burglary.
