Shots fired in possible road rage incident on Row River Road, deputies say

LANE COUNTY, Ore. – Lane County deputies are investigating after a reported road rage incident led to shots being fired on Row River Road on Tuesday.

Authorities said it happened at about 12:30 p.m. between milepost 0.5 and 1.5.

A white man was seen firing a weapon before going into nearby woods, deputies said.

Deputies and Cottage Grove and Oregon State police arrived and found an empty gray Dodge Dakota off the road.

The other involved vehicle is believed to be a white, four-door sedan or wagon, possibly a Dodge Magnum. Deputies said it left the scene and likely has front-end damage on the passenger side and on the fender. It was last seen headed eastbound on Row River Road near Dorena Dam.

Officers are searching the area with police dogs.

Row River Road was temporarily closed at the scene of the incident to allow for investigation. It was reopened just after 4 p.m.
