EUGENE, Ore. - U.S. Senator Ron Wyden was in Eugene Friday, helping Food For Lane County volunteers deliver meals.
Wyden's visit comes in the wake of the recently passed tax bill that he believes threatens charitable donations.
The senator said supporting anti-hunger programs is essential for ensuring people throughout the community are well nourished.
Wyden delivered meals to two of the organization's clients and says he can't thank the volunteers enough for what they do on a daily basis.
"To me, this is a small thing that I can do to make sure that folks know how supportive I am of their wonderful work," said Wyden.
Staff with Food For Lane County said they appreciate Senator Wyden coming out to support their services and their clients.
