COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- A second family has come forward in the Cottage Grove hazing scandal, alleging that their 14-year-old son was also assaulted in a locker room during football activities.

The family also says that the child reported the abuse to an adult staff member eight days before the district took action.

The accusations of the second teen align closely with the first alleged victim, who also reported being assaulted by older boys following a football practice in September.

In both cases, a broomstick was allegedly used in the assault.

The family in the second case said they suspect there were other victims as well. They are calling for what they describe as more accountability from players and staff.

On Friday, Brian McCasline, interim assistant superintendent for South Lane School District, was asked about the new allegations. He said the situation has been resolved and further reporting is only harming the students.

Friday afternoon, parents and concerned neighbors gathered in front of the high school to demonstrate their concerns with signs.

One mother said she feels like she’s in a “twilight zone” with the recent allegations.

“It made me very disappionted because I felt it took my ability to be a good parent away by checking in with them when something this big happens, maybe informing them before they hear from their peers,” she said.

But not everyone agreed.

Bella Clemmens is a sophomore at the high school, and she says she believes this gone too far.

"I think it's been blown out of proportion to be perfectly honest,” Clemmens said. “I know a lot of these kids, and I know that they would never do that.”

Below is a letter from Superintendent Larry Sullivan regarding the investigation into the initial reports of hazing:
