ROSEBURG, Ore. – Police have confirmed that shots were fired at the Budget 16 Motel in Roseburg, and that several victims are being treated for their injuries.
At least one victim has a gunshot wound, and other victims have injuries that are believed to be serious, Roseburg police said.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. at the Budget 16 Motel at 1067 NE Stephens Street in Roseburg. Dispatchers began receiving multiple reports of a shooting at the motel. Roseburg police and other law enforcement agencies responded.
Police said several people were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg for treatment of their injuries.
The person believed to be responsible for the shooting is in custody, and is also being treated for injuries, police said.
Police investigators are conducting interviews with witnesses and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
