ROSEBURG, Ore.—Roseburg Public Schools is looking for a new online system to support their students while distance learning.

This comes after a middle school Zoom lesson was interrupted Monday by a hacker who showed the students pornographic images.

District officials said the teacher lost control of the screen when the hacker entered the Zoom meeting.

They said they still haven’t decided whether they’ll drop Zoom or not.

However, Superintendent Jared Cordon said they are looking into other programs.

“We’re still trying to have an optimistic view,” said Cordon. “What we learned from this, things we can take away as we think about next year. Then really the question is what works for kids and what works for parents and staff.”

Cordon said all Zoom lessons will be suspended until they can find a solution.

He said the district is temporarily using Google Classroom.
