SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – More layoffs are planned at Roseburg Forest Products' Dillard plywood plant.

About 30 people will be affected by the changes, company officials announced Friday. About 97% of the people laid off have received job offers at Roseburg’s other plants in Dillard and Riddle. The rest have been invited to interview for jobs at other facilities.

“Roseburg (Forest Products) knows this is difficult news for our team members and their families,” the company said in a statement. “The company has pledged to work with all those affected, with the goal of placing them as soon as possible.”

This is the second round of layoffs at the Dillard plant in recent months. In August, about 90 employees were laid off, with 50 being offered jobs at other plants.

Roseburg Forest Products attributes the layoffs to unfavorable conditions in the North American plywood market.

Operations at plants in Riddle and Coquille will continue as usual.

Roseburg Forest Products was founded in 1936 and manages more than 600,000 acres of timberland in Oregon, North Carolina and Virginia.
