JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- A ranch owner in Junction City is sounding the alarm after preparing for the Willamette River behind his ranch to flood.

Matt Hogan, the owner of Rolling H Ranch, spent his Sunday morning preparing his ranch for high waters.

"We got all the equipment out and got the horses out ... 25 horses this morning," Hogan said.

According to the National Weather Service, water in the Willamette River near Harrisburg is expected to rise about 15 feet Sunday night.

Hogan said the Army Corp of Engineers is expected to open flood gates on the Willamette River near his ranch.

"Nobody told us anything, which is why I'm concerned for other people on the river," he said.

Hogan moved all his horses to a safe place in fear of water pouring into the barn. However, he said relocating the animals cost him several thousands of dollars.

"Who knows what I'll also need to pay for when we come back and see what happened," he said.

Hogan wants to encourage others to take a look at the National Weather Service's website for the latest flooding information.
