Detectives said Wednesday night that the incident occurred just after 6 p.m. in a house at 68th Place and Forsythia Street in Springfield. Police arrived to find one person dead inside the house. There were multiple people inside the house when police arrived.

Police had said Wednesday night that Wilcox was considered armed and dangerous, and they had warned people not to approach him.
