Police identify victim in deadly Springfield crash

Springfield Police identified the victim in a deadly crash Wednesday as a 76-year-old woman from Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Springfield Police identified the victim in a deadly crash Wednesday as 76-year-old Sally Rozendal of Springfield. 

Police said the crash at the intersection of 5th Street and Centennial Boulevard involved two vehicles, a Chevy Impala driven by Rozendal and a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Darla Brown, 32, of Springfield.

The crash happened at about 7:35 a.m. Wednesday. Police determined when they arrived at the crash that the driver of one of the vehicles had died. The driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were evaluated by medics for injuries.

Police said a preliminary investigation suggests speed, distraction and a failure to obey a traffic light are factors in the crash.
